Caroline Dunham’s younger sister is pregnant, and has revealed that Adam Prescott is the father.  Caroline, hoping to force Adam to own up to his responsibility, has kidnapped him.  Though Adam keeps assuring Caroline that she’s mistaken, she won’t be swayed.  Her abduction skills, however, leave something to be desired, and Adam shows that he can easily escape.  He chooses to stay, and to Caroline’s surprise, helps her.  This man seems nothing like the kind of man who would seduce and abandon a young lady.  How can Caroline possibly be falling for him herself?  What if her selfish younger sister is not telling the truth?  A CHRISTMAS ABDUCTION is a sweet story of a misguided lady trying to do the right thing for her family, and a charming (formerly rakish) man who finds love in a most unusual way.

Lady Diana Lawrence is returning home to England after a seven year absence, in which she traveled and became a successful businesswoman.  In all those years, she never met a man who could measure up to Anthony Raines, her first love.  Anthony is now Duke of Castleton, and is sometimes known as The Disappearing Duke, because of his avoidance of social events and marriage minded ladies.  He, too, has never found a love to surpass the one he shared with Diana while he was only nineteen.  He’s persuaded to attend a masquerade, which he finds very freeing, as his identity is kept secret.  He shares a dance with a lady, who, much to his shock, turns out to be Diana, when they unmask.  His still strong feelings shake him, and he’s unsure how to respond.  Anthony decides to pursue a new relationship with Diana, but first he must learn why she refused his proposal and left the country all those years ago.  Though Diana still feels the magical attraction to Anthony, she has secrets that she doesn’t want to share with him.  Will Anthony and Diana be able to grab the new beginning fate has offered them?  Perhaps with the help of a cat named Panda?  ONE WICKED WINTER NIGHT is a poignant second chance at love story, and is my favorite of the collection.    ~Rose
